We’ve got a beautiful baroque castle here in Salzburg, called Hellbrunn.
In former times the emperors used it for refreshment in summer. Today you can still visit their pleasant gardens and ponds.
We’ve been to several bigger cities this year but Prague has been the definite highlight.
The city has such a rich cultural history, ranging from Romanesque and Gothic church architecture over buildings from the communist era to modern skyscrapers and shopping centres.
Crossing the always crowded Charles Bridge you can walk up to the castle, from where you have the most beautiful view over the old town. If possible, try to visit Charles Bridge early in the morning or late at night.
Among the more hidden and quieter parts of the town is the Jewish quarter with its beautiful synagogues and the Franz Kafka monument but also lesser known places like Bethlehem Chapel or St. Agnes Convent.
This hasn’t been our last trip to the queen of cities – we want to come back in spring when the beautiful gardens around the castle open again!
