On the mountains the changes of autumn can already be seen…
Last weekend we went to my boyfriend’s hometown, which is a small, idyllic place near a lake surrounded by high mountains.
While we walked along a small path next to the lake, brown and yellow leaves were falling into the water, creating an autumn-like impression…
It’s nearly December now but the weather resembles more the sunny days of September!
Going on a hiking tour (probably the last one for the season) I took some pictures of the beautiful countryside.
The clear blue lake is called ‘Fuschlsee’ and is known for its drinking water quality!
Sometimes I find it hard to believe how beautiful nature is.
The nuances of green and brown in the autumn forests, the beauty of the sun shining through the leaves, the gurgling of the small creeks and ponds…
You just have to take a walk and watch this amazing spectacle!
I just love pumpkins in all variations: pumpkin soup, pumpkin cake, roasted pumpkin pieces on a salad or pumpkin jam.
It’s the first time I tried this delicious recipe:
half of a hokkaido pumpkin (butternut would also be delicious)
jam sugar (1:3)
1 vanilla pod
Chop the pumpkin and the apple into small pieces and put them into a big pot. Let them boil together with some apple juice, some cinnamon and the vanilla pod (split it open and scrape the seeds). Mash everything with a mixer. Then add the jam sugar while stirring the jam all the time. Let it boil for three more minutes, then pour the jam into prepared jam jars and put them upside down for a few minutes.
I bought this delicious pumpkin-orange jam from a farmer at the garden fair. I also like some bright and colourful decoration when it’s rainy and grey outside in autumn…
