Whenever I travel somewhere, I take a small sketchbook with me. These sketches where done while travelling through Nepal, some of them on typical Nepali handmade paper.
Sometimes all it needs is a quick sketch of a remarkable scene, which you can later turn into a larger painting.
I love drawing, painting and collages so I did these small sketches recently using some pages of old books and other collage material.
Even if you can’t always see the original material any longer, I feel that the sketches have a different quality than paintings on simple white paper.
Today I made these small sketches of everyday objects on collaged paper in postcard format. When I have time, I want to make a whole series of such small still lives…
Currently I’m working on a new acrylic painting. It should be ready for Christmas since it’s going to be a present for my sister’s new apartment.
She loves bright colours…
I did these small still life paintings a while ago.
Because I used some old canvases for some of them you can see the brush strokes of the old
painting shining through…
I’ve been working on this one oil painting for weeks now and I still can’t finish it.
I like the bright primary colours and the texture created by adding some sand to the paints…
… are these small sketches of everyday objects.
Here are some of my latest sketchbook entries. These are just some ideas for oil paintings I’m going to do later.
