You can never start early enough to prepare nice packaging material for Christmas.
For these gift tags I carved a Christmas tree out of an eraser. Using a white eraser as a printing block has got several advantages.
The material is pretty soft und you can easily draw your motif on it with a pencil before you cut it out.
And once you have made your set of stamps, you can print with them again and again.
For Christmas I like to use golden or silver linocut printing colour.
Here are some pictures of yesterday’s printing workshop.
We printed some colourful spring motifs using linocut plates and used screenprinting to print on fabric.
Needless to say we had a lot fun…
You can turn an ordinary spring flower into a nice present using some printed paper…
Printing is just fun, whatever material you print on…
At the moment I enjoy printing on fabric. So I got these nice pillow cases, cut out easy stencils and printed some floral motifs with green, blue und white textile paint.
It’s a simple idea but looks really pretty on your sofa!
While organising my printing and painting material I found some textile paint yesterday.
Why not print some nice patterns on plain white textiles?
All you need is some paint and a good cutter to cut out your stencil. Instead of paper I used overhead transparencies because you can print with them several times.
You can print on different fabric. Of course cotton works best but I also printed on some silk pillow cases…
Here’s my DIY calender for the next year – one print for each month.
Printing has become a kind of obsession lately so I thought why not use this creative energy and make some nice DIY Christmas presents using my printing plates?
I got this nice sketchbook made out of handmade paper and printed on the front and back of the book. The first print was done with blue, the second with white linocut colour.
The structure of the handmade paper creates these unexpected forms…
The book is going to be a present for an art teacher.
